Katie, a freelance video editor who desperately needs work, receives a very well-paid offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and strange film. With no money and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the job. The footage shows people being tortured and even killed – probably just an elaborate fiction. But when her first job turns into an even more lucrative position and disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange figures in her apartment, horrible nightmares that keep her awake, and a mysterious illness afflicting her cat. It is only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she learns just how cruel her anonymous employer is and how far she herself is willing to go to break the contract.
