Tale
Brilliant but emotionally guarded Caro Drake arrives at Oxford with the sole goal of completing her PhD, but through a mysterious friendship with a charming young man, she begins to open up to mystery, vulnerability, and love. Carolyn Weber, author of the book on which the biographical novel the film is based, was in attendance, as was actress Rose Reid, who played Caro Drake in the film, and other members of the production.
And I have to admit, this film is pretty good
Christmas Eve in My Hometown Written by Stanley William Zabka and Donald Upton Performed by Eddie Fisher (1951 Recording). I knew nothing about this film, I came across it, it had an introduction by the author of the book it is based on – Carolyn Weber, and also the producer.
as well as the cast which stars Simon Callow, Jordan Alexandra, Emma Naomi, a very memorable Lourdes Faberes, and the wonderful Phyllis Logan who is quite variable and starts off very stiff but is also a driving force
The introduction goes on to say that it is a romantic film, which it kind of is, but it really gets into the main character – Carolyn’s life as a child in America and Oxford, England, Roes Reid is brilliant as Carolyn who struggles with studying, the odd romance and if she is a religious person, she meets Kent Weber, played with real conviction by Ruairi O’Connor. He is a very religious person and his views and others make Carolyn really question her life and what she really wants and what she thinks of others, Ryan Whitaker’s direction is spot on and captures the Oxford setting.
giving this a 75/10 because Oxford surprised me
But I don’t think I would want to study or work there.
